Ins Kino (to the movies)

Today was a holiday in Germany, so another quiet grey day. We went to see the German dubbed version of "The Two Faces of January" at the Kino International. (I understood almost all the dialogue- pretty good for 3 weeks here!) Such a great theater in that all the decor is original: wood paneling, chandeliers, disco balls- y'know just what you'd expect when going to the movies. They have a classy mini bar at the top of the stairs, flanked by fresh lilies that smell amazing.

On the way out, we passed the Mockba Bar atop of which is a model of Sputnik, the first artificial satellite courtesy of the Soviet Union, and across the street a subway stop, glowing in the evening light.

  1. Lovely activity for a gray holiday. What a beautiful space. And fresh lilies. Classy.
It's amazing that you could follow the dialogue, Ellie. Go girl.

  2. It was indeed pretty classy. And the best part was people kept quiet during the film, or got quickly shushed if not...Thanks for the support! Lots to learn but making progress.
