Pit stop in Potsdam

I meant to share with you a quick post from last month...I've been waiting years to see the historic city of Potsdam and its UNESCO heritage site of Schloss/Castle Sanssouci. We finally made it there as a small family, but ended up just strolling around the impressive grounds.

This palace was built around 1745 and was the summer residence of Friedrich the Great, the Prussian King. The name means 'without a care' in French and the rococo style emulates Parisian style. This trip we explored some of the gardens, but hopefully next time we'll see interiors.

We did stop at a local café that was from the 1800's and had a lot of charm! Here are some inside views of the lovely details. If the cafés look this good, I can only imagine the wonders in the palace!

Hopeful for a return visit, but stay tuned for a more thorough report of the city of DRESDEN!

Till next time, readers.

  1. Can't wait to see and hear about the interiors of the castle. And an Ellie view into Dresden.
